Laser micrometer
The laser micrometer system is a laser measuring system in which the transmitter (laser) and receiver (detector) are separated. By means of the laser and the associated optics, a line of parallel light of desired length is generated and imaged on the receiver. If a measuring object interrupts the line between transmitter and receiver, a part of the receiver is shaded. The light / dark transition is determined very precisely on the photodetector (shadow measurement principle).
