The non-contact thickness measuring system is used for the automated measurement of continuous roll materials as an integrated component of an entire production plant. The measured values are recorded by laser sensors, calculated in an industrial PC, and visualized on the screen in numerical values and graphics.

The measuring system essentially consists of the traverse and a control cabinet. The web material is fed through the traverse and recorded by the synchronously traversing laser sensors.

The sensor data determined during traverse perpendicular to the web direction is recorded in the dimension of the traverse and running direction using an encoder. The sensors continuously record values at a constant measuring frequency. In the traverse direction, the measurement data is divided into virtual measurement tracks, into which the averaged values are entered and displayed as individual blocks.
