Functionality
The system enables the calculation of the volume of tree trunks and logs in two diameter axes over the log length with only 2 measuring beams sideway of timber transport.
The system consists of a single board computer, a light curtain for the one diameter axis and, depending on the diameter range, a series of 6-10 ultrasonic sensors for the second diameter axis.
The system captures distance controlled the two diameter of each measuring point. After the pass of the tree trunk, the following values are available:
- Min.-max.- diameter
- Sweep of the log
- Length of the log
- Volume of the log
